Ironman Western Australia is set in the host town of Busselton
which is situated in a long bay around three hours south of the
state capital of Perth. Conditions are usually quite sheltered,
making for fast times. For the third time in ten years, Busselton
just won an award as the top tourist town in Western Australia,
which ensures that Ironman is very welcome..Another highlight is
the famous Margaret River Wine region about 30mins drive away

The Race
SWIM: The Masters Milk Swim Leg is a one-lap clockwise
course around the Busselton Jetty in the protected waters of
Geographe Bay. Spectators can actually walk the length of the jetty
watching the athletes swim
BIKE: The 180km incredibly fast flat bike course awaits,
which takes the triathletes through three 60km loops on flat fast
roads through rare forest plantations and every year the road
surface has got better. There are some exposed sections but
definitely a course to set a PB on.
RUN: The run course is a three-lap course along the
Busselton foreshore. Again its flat and can be fast, most of the
course is along the shoreline with a short winding shaded section
through some trees.
