Great race Jozsef ! You set up a good example to others on how to cope with adversities (not having a bike for the race!)

Greetings from Germany

Hi, I’m here in Roth to prepare well for the Quelle Challenge Ironman in July 12. I arrived 1 week ago and I took part in a short distance triathlon, called Rothsee Triathlon.

My start wasn’t the best however I was satisfied with my swimming (21:28) because I didn’t feel too bad. On the bike I was in a disadvantegous situation because I didn’t know the course well. So usually I got some meters from the others in the sharp corners. Anyway I had the 3. best bike split (01:01:04), with more experi… Continue

Hungarian Duathlon Championship

Two weeks right after the Ironman I decided to run a minimarathon in Mosonmagyarovar which is not far from Gyor (where I live). It was 14 kilometers, it seemed to be a very good training for me. As Sergio adviced I started the first 5 kilometer moderate (16:51:08), the next 5 kilometer was easy, comfortable (17:18:19) and I tried to push the last 5 km hard (16:20:00). The overall time was 52:58:01 a new course record. I was very happy that I felt good on the run and I could win.

Three weeks aft… Continue

3rd at the Ironman China on a lent bike

A triathlete without his bike on the day of the event is indeed a very sad person. That’s what happened to me. I learned once I was in China that my bike had not followed me there. After a brief moment of panic and a phone call to Argon 18, New Sheng Yang’s team who distributes Argon 18 bikes in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong came to my rescue: in less than 12 hours I got a brand new E-114 adjusted according to my measures delivered to me in Haikou. With this bike I finished in 3rd place of the eve… Continue

IM 70.3 California

My latest race was the IM 70.3 California in Oceanside in April 4. It was quite cold in the morning and the water temperature was 59 degrees. So the conditions were not very nice.

I finished the swim on the 35th position, not very far from my ironman opponents. I was 2 minutes behind from Rutger Beke and Ronnie Schildknecht. (Hawaiian 3rd and 4th place)

My bike was very impressive. I had the 6th best bike split, which was very good regarding the fact there were so many (ex)short distance compe… Continue

Race report - Desert Classic Duathlon 2009

I knew that the course would be challenging in the desert (with deep sand and narrow footpath). But I didn’t expect that the race would be so quick.

I woke up 4 o’clock in the morning. I had a breakfast than I left for the McDowell Mountain Park. I arrived in time so I could park inside. I decided to walk to the center with all the staff I needed. I got the chip, I put the bike into the transition area and I started to warm up.

My start was at 8:15 a.m. We stood up on the line and after the sh… Continue
