Thanks Kristian

I'd like to say thanks to my ironguides coach, Kristian Manietta.

I have known him for more than five years and I have been working with him professionally since mid-November 2008. And I can say without hesitation that I'm a far better triathlete today for it.

In embracing The Method, I've had to put aside my general questioning of every session - at least enough to accept that what I'm to do in each session is because it will make me faster. And it has.

It wasn't pretty. Nope, not in anyway. But I've got my medal and it was a day of at least one first: cycling into a moving SUV and then hitting the ground. Not recommended!

Long day

I have decided to nominate Ikea for a Nobel Couch Prize after my longest training day in more than a year.

It started with a 3 1/2 hour indoor trainer session with two 15 minute time trials and a 30-minute hard finish. But that wasn't the real finish.

After refueling on a Power caf gel - sooo good - I began a half hour run.

It was a great training day and all I could do at the end was make myself comfortable on the couch. That was the easiest part of the day.
