I have to say, it has been an interesting week! A week ago, I flew to Charlotte with my Mom to visit my sister and her family. I made my mother get the flu shot so we would be protected from the flu bug since we were flying. I obsessively used hand sanitizer and was very careful with hand washing but...something slipped past me and I got strep (I think, at least that's what I treated), that turned into an upper respiratory infection, that turned into laryngitis and possibly "walking pneumonia" (at least, that's what we are treating me for now). Ugh! Needless to say, I haven't done anything productive training wise this week, but it has given me some time to reflect, recenter, and refocus on my goal.
I think I've been too serious (in my mind, not physically) about this training and being sick has sort of snapped me out of that. I'm doing this because I want to, because I can, because I'm healthy enough to handle it! I'm also reminded of how lucky I am to have a good state of health and well being. So there will be no feeling sorry for myself! Oh no! As soon as I can, I'm headed back out very easily, gradually, and with a cheerful heart. It seems I have had some obstacles to overcome with my foot problem and 10 (or more) days out from being sick, but like John Locke says ("LOST") "Struggle is natures way of making you stronger."
EYT!
